Nokia Pure : Now in your N900 !

Nokia Pure is Nokia's new font. Successor of Nokia Sans, install it and then select it with Theme Customizer

 

You may need to restart your Maemo device before the fonts will show up in your available fonts list

KitchenAlert : multiple timers cooking and baking application !

KitchenAlert is a timer application to be designed to fit especially cooking and baking purposes that supports running multiple timers simultaneously.

PS :
- KitchenAlert obeys the volume setting of the device.
- It is highly recommended to test whether you can hear the alert from where you will be keeping your phone before actually using it to alert you of something.
- During phone calls all alerts are omitted.
- The alert sound can be selected by the user, but a default sound is provided, too.

saveCPU : overheating control for overclocked n900 !

saveCPU is a script that controls the temperature through the bq27200 module and, if the n900 was overclocked, it reset the standard clock and turn on the LED.

The overclock will be automatically restored when the temperature drops 5 degrees Celsius below the alarm temperature.

Through the graphical interface you can set:

- LED color
- activation temperature
- waiting time for each control
- enable / disable control

If enabled, the script will be launched each time the n900 starts.

PhoneStreamer : Streams N900 to remote PC !

phonestream allows you to stream either the front/back camera or microphone to your Desktop PC either through VLC media player (windows/linux), Xout (linux), or as use as your primary webcam (linux).

OptimizeN900 : Virtually reboots your N900 !

OptimizeN900 is a script written originally by JorgeFX that refresh several processes like if you are rebooting your N900. It does not reboot or causes sudden battery drain like what happens when you reboot the N900.

Please be aware that the screen will show weird stuff but it is normal because the ALL UIs and Hildon are restarting.

WebOS Games Manager (‘wgames’ in repo) - automatic installer/uninstaller for WebOS games. It installs game from .ipk file, applies all needed hacks and creates desktop launcher. It also can back up/restore games’ saves.

MeeGo 1.2 Developer Edition for N900

Jukka Eklund from Nokia has announced a "MeeGo 1.2 Developer Edition for N900". This is an announcement of a project, not yet something downloadable for end users.

This seems to be somewhat separate to the existing MeeGo N900 hardware adaptation effort

The target is meanly hackers to upgrade MeeGo a flash on the Nokia N900, which will not be used to develop applications, but first, make the system more responsive, stable ...

Use cases asked for this version are:

Phone calls:

* Make calls Voice (enter the number directly, open from contacts, open call history)
* Receive calls
* A default ringtone
* Volume control (operates via the GUI.)

SMS:

* Send SMS number (entered by hand and from the contact list)
* Receive SMS.

Using the browser on WLAN / Wifi:

* Able to connect to the WLAN AP (with security, etc.)
* Opening a modern complex website (gmail.com, for example)

Interesting project but i was hoping to do this a year ago and just give us a solid stable and fluid N9/N950 (or whatever it will be named if it'll come out some day) by now...
